Education
Overview
The Education Division focuses on the entire spectrum of planning and development issues connected with School Education, Higher and Technical Education, and Research. It endeavours to create evidence and influence policy making in the three areas of Access, Quality and Future-readiness as underscored in the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

In the field of School Education, the Division strives to facilitate the fields of learning outcomes, quality education, school readiness programmes, socio-emotional learning, and grade-level competency amongst children. It has successfully implemented Project SATH-Education (Sustainable Action for Transforming Human Capital-Education) in Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, and Odisha, and is currently implementing the Project in Arunachal Pradesh. It has also released the School Education Quality Index (SEQI). It is currently undertaking a study on the transformation of the Indian Vocational Education System.

In the field of Higher and Technical Education, the Division plays a crucial role in research-based knowledge creation and dissemination in varied areas of public policy for the higher education sector through engagements with Central Ministries, State Governments, academics, subject experts, think tanks, and other relevant stakeholders. It focuses on key areas that would enable India to become the largest higher education ecosystem in the world and a global hub of talent, innovation and entrepreneurship by 2035. To achieve this, the Division is currently undertaking policy research studies in a variety of areas including Financing and Internationalisation, Skills and Employability, Governance and Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship. A special focus in many of these studies is on State Public Universities and on creating Multidisciplinary Education and Research Universities.
